I am a passionate and innovative educator with a profound love for literature, drama, Shakespeare, and the arts and humanities. I am dedicated to inspiring students by cultivating intellectual curiosity, confidence, and a collaborative spirit, shaping them into compassionate, thoughtful individuals equipped to thrive in an ever-changing world. With a firm belief that English fosters leadership and self-belief, I ensure that my teaching empowers students both academically and personally, enriching their cultural capital while building essential life skills.
I completed m BA at the University of Nottingham before earning my MA at the Shakespeare Institute, where I worked alongside the Royal Shakespeare Company, gaining invaluable insight into performance, dramaturgy, and Early Modern theatre. My dedication to scholarly excellence was exemplified in my MA thesis, which achieved a top distinction and reflected a deep, critical engagement with Shakespearean studies. I went on to complete a PGCE with Distinction in English and Drama, further refining my pedagogical expertise and strengthening my ability to inspire and support students. As a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and currently pursuing Chartered Teaching Status, I remain deeply committed to professional development and the advancement of innovative teaching practices.
Since 2019, I have taught English and Drama at three of the UK’s most prestigious independent day and boarding schools. My expertise spans a wide range of GCSE syllabuses, and with six years of teaching and tutoring experience at this level, I have developed a thorough understanding of exam structures and pedagogical strategies. Currently in the process of becoming an examiner for a leading exam board, I leverage this insight to enhance students’ exam preparation, equipping them with advanced study techniques and a deeper understanding of assessment frameworks.
At A-Level, I deliver a dynamic and intellectually rigorous curriculum, continuously innovating to engage and challenge students. I integrate AI-driven approaches into my teaching, utilizing cutting-edge tools to provide personalized essay feedback, refine literary analysis, and simulate exam scenarios. My commitment to fostering a lifelong love of literature extends beyond the syllabus—my classrooms are spaces where students explore texts critically, develop independent thought, and gain a broader cultural perspective.
Beyond my working the classroom, I have played a pivotal role in university admissions support, guiding students through UCAS applications, including Oxbridge preparation, drama school auditions, and American university applications. My expertise spans multiple disciplines, with pupils securing places at the world’s most prestigious institutions, including Ivy League universities, elite drama schools, and top medical programs. My experience in this area ensures students receive tailored mentorship, refining personal statements, interview techniques, and application strategies to maximize their success.
