I am an experienced teacher and tutor. I tutor children in English, including for entrance exams, from 7+ to 11+. I also teach English as a foreign language and art.

I am also a trained, exhibiting artist who has been making work in painting and photography over a number of years. In addition to tutoring English and maths, I am also an art tutor. I encourage my students to try their hand at a variety of disciplines in two and three dimensions from model making to painting and drawing, crafting, printing and many other exciting activities. I have also run after school clubs in digital art, life drawing and photography for KS2 & 3 students, working with digital media and encouraging them to talk about and exhibit their work to others.

In 2017 I gained a Teaching English as a Foreign Language certification and subsequently went on to be the EAL/ English intervention tutor at an outstanding preparatory school in central London for four years. There I worked on a one-to-one basis helping children supplement their English skills and overcome SEND issues such as dyslexia, autism and ADHD. I also taught a number of overseas students English from scratch to help their classroom experience and integration into school life run more smoothly. I focused on reading, grammar, spelling and creative writing.

More recently I have been working with SEND teenage children, helping them overcome life’s challenges and continue their English studies whilst they are outside of the school system. I also work with young asylum seekers, teaching them English as a foreign language and giving pastoral support as they navigate difficult circumstances and new lives in a foreign country.

I enjoy nurturing young people and utilising my passion for creativity to inspire them and to make learning inspiring, whether the lessons are in art, English or exam skills. I thoroughly enjoy meeting and teaching children of all ages I bring warmth, patience and a dash of humour to all my roles and am proud to have enhanced the lives of some wonderful souls over the years.
