I tutor English from KS2 upwards, preparing students for 11+, 13+, GCSEs and A-levels (including Uni entrance). My last English Language GCSE school class all achieved A*. I also teach Latin KS2 – KS3 and I coach speaking and debating. I am also a qualified teacher of Mindfulness for children.
As a practising poet, I love to help children to find their spark with creative writing. My style of teaching is clear and kind, fun-loving and encouraging.
I have taught for 10 years across the London Independent (including GDST) and state sectors, with responsibility for setting and marking entrance exams. I have in addition been responsible for improving English results across a group of 20 schools, Primary and Secondary. Accordingly, I have a good understanding of problems children face with English exams and methods to overcome them.
It is a privilege to me to get to know children 1:1, to help develop their unique intellectual curiosity and enable them to take steps forward for themselves. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a student arrive at ‘I get it!’ with a smile.
