After a long career as a communications professional within the financial and sustainability sectors, I decided to become a tutor as I passionately believe that a good education is a key foundation for whatever you choose to do in life.

Throughout my career, I’ve always enjoyed supporting and developing people and finding different ways to draw out the best in others, and now, as a tutor, I’m looking forward to helping children achieve their full potential and overcome whatever challenges that they are facing. I am also a highly experienced coach and mentor, which I can bring to my lessons as appropriate.

I will be focusing on teaching 7+ to 11+, having gone through these stages with my own family, but I’m also very happy to work with other students if my experience can help, including interview and CV guidance, which I’ve been doing at my son’s secondary school for the past two years.

In addition to supporting my own family, I have experience working with children: as a year 3 teaching assistant; tutoring children for whom English wasn’t their first language; and being a parent reader for children from reception to year 6.

As a local SW mum, I also have direct experience of the local schools and have gone through the 11+ process, so I understand the stress that the exam process can cause children (and families!), but I’m also living proof that you do come out the other side!

I’d really love to work with your children to help them through whatever challenges they’re currently facing, as there’s nothing more rewarding than helping a child to finally understand something that they’ve been struggling with, and seeing the smile spread across their face.
