I am a dedicated chess tutor. I am one of only about 30 chess teachers who is accredited by The Chess Federation as a coach. I teach in schools and junior clubs as well as private tuition. I regularly play in the British Chess Championships and have taught previous British Champions. I have over 20 years of experience as a chess teacher at all levels, from beginners to advanced.
I love tutoring children to play chess because you can see the excitement and pleasure it brings to the child when they start to understand and begin to appreciate the benefits of the game. This includes planning, memory aid, patterns, shape recognition and calculation. Therefore, helping with mathematics, art and science as well as all forms of forward thinking.
I find it rewarding to know I can assist in developing a child’s future life skills as their chess knowledge improves.
