Michael O

BSc in Economics from the University of York and an MSc in Economics from University College London.

I’m a humorous and accomplished tutor with seven years of experience tutoring students of all abilities. Much of my foundational experience was with students taken out of mainstream education due to the results of additional needs such as ADHD and anxiety. Those engagements were highly rewarding, and I continue to find working with SEN students deeply meaningful and fulfilling.

My method involves developing key concepts from the ground up, addressing any gaps in the student’s foundational knowledge before carefully building up from this base. In this way, I hope to ensure even the most advanced question feels intuitive and accessible—even obvious. I am also eager to ensure my lessons are engaging from beginning to end and well-tailored to the student’s particular interests and needs.

I graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s in Economics, developing a love for analytical reasoning and applied mathematics. I now tutor students for independent school entrance exams, with particular specialisation in non-verbal reasoning and mathematics, achieving a spate of successes at London’s most exclusive private schools.

I also teach Maths, Business and Economics to IB/A-level. Alongside this, I am the lead tutor for Business and Economics at an alternative provision school in London.

When I’m not tutoring, I enjoy producing mathematical content for a popular online education platform or working as an examiner for the UK’s leading Economics GCSE and A Level exam board.

My students have gained acceptance to Habs, CLSG, St Paul’s Girls’, Oxford, Cambridge and Yale.
