I tutor students from year 4 to adults. I work with students who are looking to improve their English skills and also those who wish to prepare for entrance exams. I prepare students for 10+, 11+ and 13+ English and verbal reasoning exams. I have 10 years of experience helping students thrive in the highly competitive environment of New York City’s private schools. I was born in the United States, raised in Italy, and then returned to New York to finish my education, so I am well-versed in tutoring students from different academic and international backgrounds. In addition to teaching English , I also teach Italian and I have taught ESL in Italy and South Korea. I am bilingual in English and Italian.
My tutoring approach is to develop a unique entry point to the material based on each student’s individual interests in order to increase engagement with subjects that may have traditionally presented challenges for them. As a children’s fiction author with Penguin Books, I am especially passionate about helping students uncover their innate potential for English and writing, and I place a strong emphasis on building a student’s academic confidence, while simultaneously fostering reliable study habits to help them excel at exams.
