BSc: Sociology, University of Exeter. MSc: Human Resources, University of Edinburgh
I am a creative, patient and friendly tutor specialising in Sociology, Psychology and English for students from KS2 to A-level. With 4 years of tutoring experience, I help students develop confidence through injecting fun into learning. Having studied Psychology at A-level (receiving an A) and Sociology at university (graduating with a 2:1) I can offer insights to prepare students for competitive and challenging academic pathways.
I apply an empathetic teaching methodology, applying a balance between both flexible and structured learning which is guided by the student to allow them to feel a sense of autonomy and ownership over their academic development. I enjoy thinking out-side-the-box as a mentor to help bring learning to life through practical application and examples.
I am comfortable teaching across a range of lesson types, whether that be past paper reviews, revision methods or working together on homework from school. This is always tailored to each student’s strengths and needs so that we have a positive working relationship and I can help establish the right attitudes to learning. Overall, I apply a fun, patient, flexible approach to tutoring.
