Charley Jones

I am an enthusiastic, creative person with many years of experience teaching English and Arts. I have worked in various schools as a tutor and also as a one-to-one tutor. I teach English, with a focus on creative writing to KS2 pupils and 7 plus, 11 plus nd 13 plus tutoring.

I am experienced in tutoring for English and creative writing. I have a thorough understanding of the CEM and ISEB exams. I also have experience teaching students who require general support with English skills and I additionally have three years of experience working with EAL students who are based in China.

I have been confirmed as one of the judges for the 2026 “Time to Write” ISEB creative writing competition. I look forward to using my experience as an 11+ English tutor in this position.

I believe in working collaboratively with students to enable them to develop a better understanding of creative writing, comprehension and grammar. I love to teach creatively and I look to engage students with the learning process by incorporating themes that they enjoy and are motivated by. I enjoy working with all ages and abilities, including neurodivergent students; I aim to turn obstacles into special skills and talents. I have worked with a range of students and I view each person as a unique individual with their own outlook and learning needs.

My interests vary but are mainly focused around art and travel. When I am not teaching you can expect to find me either painting a new canvas, hiking or my favourite leisure time activity is spending quality time with my son Lucas.
