My track record of success in teaching manifests itself through the improved grades of my students in English at KS2, KS3 and KS4. I structure my teaching, both through resources and delivery, to provide each learner with the support and challenge they need to achieve. I work hard to create an inclusive learning environment.
I have worked as a tutor teaching students from the ages of 8-16. I specialise in tutoring for entrance exams, focusing mainly on 10+ and 11+ English exams. However, I do also tutor students for 13+ English, GCSE English and I provide general support in English. I have been the lead English tutor for Hyde Tutoring’s 10+ and 11+ English revision courses for about 10 years. As a specialist 10+ and 11+ English tutor, I know the exams and their requirements inside out; I am also very well positioned to advise parents on suitable schools for their child.
Prior to this, I worked in three local secondary schools teaching English at KS3 and KS4. I have been teaching for 20 years, including as a department head. I have also worked as a GCSE examiner; my experience as an examiner really helps me to think strategically about how to help my tutees to maximise marks in their exams.
