PGCE Secondary Education (Geography Specialism), University of Roehampton
Bachelor’s Degree in Geography (with integrated teacher training), Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro UFRJ, Brazil

I am a fully qualified Geography teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching Geography across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 in the UK and a further 5 years teaching Geography in Brazil. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Geography with integrated teacher training from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. After moving to the UK, I completed a PGCE in Secondary Education with a Geography specialism at the University of Roehampton, further developing my understanding of the National Curriculum and UK examination systems.

I have extensive experience preparing students for GCSE and A Level Geography, helping them to secure a strong understanding of geographical concepts whilst developing the analytical, evaluative and exam technique skills needed to achieve their potential. I tailor my lessons to each student’s individual needs, whether they are looking to build confidence, strengthen subject knowledge or work towards the highest grades.

I am passionate about helping young people understand the complex relationships between people, places and environments, as well as the challenges facing our world today. I particularly enjoy teaching topics such as environmental issues, sustainability, physical and human geography, and global development. I strive to make lessons engaging, relevant and thought-provoking, encouraging students to develop curiosity, critical thinking skills and a genuine interest in the world around them.

I have extensive experience working with students of varying abilities, including those with additional learning needs such as ADHD and autism, as well as highly able and gifted students. My classroom experience has taught me the importance of adapting my teaching approach to each learner, providing the right balance of support and challenge to help every student make progress. I also have strong behaviour management skills and believe that positive relationships, clear expectations and an engaging learning environment are key to student success.

I have a calm, patient and approachable manner which helps students feel comfortable asking questions and tackling challenging topics with confidence. Alongside academic achievement, I place a strong emphasis on student wellbeing and aim to create a supportive learning environment where every student feels valued and able to thrive.
