I am a graduate from the University of Cambridge. At university I achieved a first-class honours degree in Chinese Studies and Human, Social, and Political Sciences.
I have over 5 years experience in teaching settings, working within subject tutoring, entrance exam preparation, character education, Oxbridge application support and arts facilitation. I have experience working with children from 5 years old all the way up to A Levels.
I have considerable experience in entrance exam preparation. I can prepare students for 7+, 8+, 9+, 10+, 11+ and 13+ exams. I can tutor students in English, maths, reasoning and interview skills. I have also worked as a professional mentor for 11+ students, this entailed preparing them and their families for every aspect of the 11+ exams from the academics, to interview preparation, to exam technique and study skills.
I have lots of experience working with young people with SEND, from dyslexia, ADHD, ASD and dysphraxia. Having dyspraxia myself I am acutely aware of the flexibility needed to support young people with alternative learning needs. I understand the challenges many SEND pupils experience in school as the system is often not catered to their style of learning and their specific needs.
I am also a highly rated ESL tutor, and Oxbridge applications tutor (with a 90% offer rate for my students).
I am passionate about outreach and education – I hope to continue teaching, mentoring, and work on making real radical change in the ways young people are taught and championed at school.
Outside of tutoring I have substantial experience in the performing arts industry. I have worked with hundreds of young people from across the country who are interested in the performing arts. Aside from this work I am a professional actor, writer, and stand-up comedian. My writing is focused on empowering marginalised identities.
