Double First in English Literature (BA) from the University of Cambridge.
I am an experienced private tutor and teacher and have worked with a wide variety of ages within a variety of educational settings. I have helped students one-to-one with 11+, GCSE and A-Level exams as well as University admissions (including Oxbridge prep, since I did it myself), and have an excellent track record for improving grades and getting students into their top choice of school or University. I primarily focus on English Literature and Language, but I have also helped with other humanities subjects and Mathematics up to GCSE level. I believe that it is important to give my students the tools they need to fully understand exam material and allow them to develop skills that are useful not just in getting good grades, but in every aspect of their lives. While English Literature might not – unfortunately – be everyone’s favourite subject, I make it my mission to ensure my students come away with more of an appreciation for it, and a passion that can drive them to achieve their best work and excel in all areas of academia!
I have supported learning in both primary and secondary schools, so I have an extensive knowledge of the curriculum and teaching techniques. Additionally, I have worked with SEND children – including those with ADHD, autism and learning disabilities — to provide specialised support to tailor their learning to their needs. I bring compassion, empathy and care to my teaching, aiming to challenge and push my students by building their confidence and interest in subjects that they might have otherwise struggled with.
