I am a trained secondary school Spanish and French teacher and have taught at outstanding schools in both state and private sectors, as well as tutored 1-to-1 in the UK and overseas. I am experienced in teaching to GCSE and A level across the AQA, Edexcel and iGCSE curricula. I have also taught languages to primary school pupils.
I am used to providing support on a 1:1 and small group basis to both struggling and higher-level learners to boost their confidence, properly ground them in grammar concepts, elevate their performance using higher level language and maximise their chances of success. My sessions cover the four examined skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.
Language learning is about more than passing exams, so I also aim to inspire students to enjoy their linguistic abilities, maintain their skills through the school holidays and feel confident about communicating. I am passionate about supporting every student to reach their potential, using individual interests (e.g. sport, music, fashion, history) and authentic, contemporary materials to inspire engagement and extend cultural knowledge.
